V2 JSON
CharacterMuse uses the chara_card_v2 envelope and preserves standard text fields, alternate greetings, embedded Lorebook data, tags, creator data, and extension objects through its tested local round trip.
Create, inspect, import, and export portable character cards without assuming every client handles every field the same way.
CharacterMuse uses the chara_card_v2 envelope and preserves standard text fields, alternate greetings, embedded Lorebook data, tags, creator data, and extension objects through its tested local round trip.
CharacterMuse can embed the same V2 payload in a PNG chara metadata chunk and read it back locally. A portrait-backed PNG remains an image plus structured card data.
Recorded client check: Tested with SillyTavern 1.18.0 JSON/PNG import and export workflow on 2026-08-08. CharacterMuse re-import preserved the tested semantic fields. Model-dependent prompt and Lorebook activation were not tested.
The repository tests a fixed V2 card for required and advanced fields, alternate greetings, Lorebook entries, unknown extension preservation, JSON serialization, and PNG metadata round trips.
No complete-compatibility claim is made. CharacterMuse is independent and not officially certified by SillyTavern. Client versions, settings, prompt precedence, extensions, and model behavior can differ.
Keep the original file, inspect the exported fields, import into your chosen client, and check the first message, alternate greetings, prompts, and Lorebook entries. Recheck after either tool changes version.
